Race Director's Final Update
With just a little over a week to go to race day it looks like we should be very close to equaling the number of runners we had last year. Of course this means we will be able to accept entries right up to race time for all three races. Mail-in entries probably should not be mailed as I may not get them before I leave for the North Shore. We will still take online entries until probably Tuesday or early Wednesday, and after that you can just register at one of the packet pickups (there is no fee increase for last minute entries).
If you are driving up from the south there are a couple of areas of road construction that you will encounter. Probably the biggest project is the reconstruction of 35 through Duluth, it is down to one lane both directions. Highway 61 around Split Rock Lighthouse is being rebuilt which may result in some slowdowns. The wayside that we use for access to the Split Rock aid station is being redone as well with this project so there is the possibility of not having access to that for crew parking for the 100 mile, should know for sure by the Thursday race briefing.
