Course Description and Maps

The Marathon is a point-to-point run, starting at the Cramer Road (Cook County Road 1) trailhead on the Superior Hiking Trail, and finishing near Caribou Highlands Lodge in Lutsen. The Marathon course will include a short loop in the early part of the race in order to be full marathon distance. Runners will have access to three aid stations between the start and finish, and will never go more than 8 miles without an opportunity for aid.

The Superior Hiking Trail Association (SHTA) publishes a wonderful series of trail maps, complete with descriptions, that cover in detail the sections of trail on which the Marathon will be run.
